The purpose of the St. Veronica Religious Education Program is to support and enhance the religious formation of children that takes place in the family.
Due to the uncertain nature of the continuing Covid situation, the best way to deliver REP was with a home-based approach. So, REP is going virtual. The Catholic Church has long honored parents as the first and most influential teachers of the faith to their children. This new delivery method will put parents in the driver’s seat, where they should be. Parents will be able to make decisions about faith-based instruction to suit their particular family.
Please be assured that the priority moving forward is helping parents become familiar with the textbooks, plans, supplemental information, etc. so this is a fruitful experience for all involved. The Children’s Faith Formation Office remains eager to help via email and telephone. We hope this new delivery method will bring parents and children the chance to have some important faith conversations that may not have come about otherwise.
Three programs/levels are available:
Young children (ages three through five) are instructed during the 9:30 am Mass on Sunday mornings in the Preschool and Kindergarten programs.
Until we can offer the 9:30 Mass without restrictions, we are postponing an in-person Sunday Preschool and Kindergarten REP program. As a way to help families at home on Sundays, an easy-to-use Gospel-based program is being explored for these children/families to use for 2020-21. Families with children ages 3-5 will be contacted about their interest in this program.
Children in the public schools (grades one through eight) are provided religious formation on Wednesday evenings for Grade 1-8
Textbook pick-up is Sept. 9th, from 7-8:15 at the REP Office at the rear of St. Veronica School.
Parents Last names A-M please arrive between 7:00-7:30
Parents Last names N-Z please arrive between 7:45-8:15
Parent orientation and coaching sessions will be available in September.
Children in Grade 3 and above who are receiving their first sacraments (Baptism, Confirmation, First Communion) at a delayed time are formed through the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (for Children -- called RCIA or RCIC) process on Sunday mornings.
RCIA for Children -
(October – Easter Season Sundays 10:30 am to Noon)
Designed for students older than second grade level who are preparing for the sacraments of Baptism and/or First Reconciliation and First Eucharist. This process is patterned on the model of the RCIA for adults. Student attends either daytime or Wednesday evening REP classes, and Sacramental Preparation classes. Requires parent and sponsor involvement. Contact the Faith Formation Office. Click here for more information about RCIA for Children (or Adults)
All of our REP programs rest and depend upon generous volunteer parishioners who dedicate their time to growth in their own faith life, and who willingly share their love of Christ with the children and youth of our parish.
Below you will find our 2020-21 REP tuition rates. If you would like to discuss payment plans or tuition assistance, please contact Bill Frantz in the Faith Formation Office (513) 688-3155. We are here to help.
