Learning through experiences, not just books, is important to the teachers and students at St. Veronica. Learning about helping the poor in class is important, however, that learning solidifies when students work with Parish Outreach to build power packs to provide weekend food for students, or work with the parish and local St. Vincent DePaul Society to meet the poor face to face. Other experiences like Spirit Families and the Cross Grade Level Buddy program build leadership skills in our older students, while giving our younger students a sense of family and belonging. Visiting area nursing homes, displaying student art around the city, participating in the Opening Day Parade, and doing the high ropes course at Camp Kern are just a few ways that we give our students experiences to make them well-rounded Children of God.
